The successes associated with ALF Therapy are often directly influenced by the quality of the appliance itself.
The role of the dental lab technician is essential in creating sustainability and quality control for ALF Therapy as a treatment modality.
The Certified ALF Laboratory Technician award is given to the dental laboratory technicians who have participated in the ACT Lab course. These technicians have achieved achieve the exclusive right to promote their lab as being operated by a ALF Certified Technician (ACT).
Dr. Nordstrom personally instructed the ALF Certified Technicians on the proper design and fabrication techniques to ensure that each participating technician is capable of creating Authentic ALF appliances worthy of certification.
During this course, the most recent and advanced design improvements were instructed to maximize standardization and quality control for ALF appliances.
It is important to understand that the ACT Certification status is awarded to the technician and not the entire lab. Only the technicians that became certified are authorized to construct ALF appliances under the seal of approval from the ALF InterFACE Academy.
Maintenance of ACT status will require ongoing yearly training requirements and proof of quality control.

ALF Internationals LLC is a small laboratory that specializes in the creation of Advanced Lightwire Functional appliances as developed by doctor Darick Nordstrom. This novel approach to orthodontics works to integrate cranial mobility with the palate, tooth tongue and jaw alignment resulting in improved swallowing, breathing, speech and sleep. It can also resolve symptoms such as chronic headaches, neck, shoulder, hip/back pain, ringing in the ears, vertigo, dizziness, motion sickness, teeth grinding/clenching, clicking sounds in the jaw, sleep apnea, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction.
The appliances are constructed of lightweight, resilient spring wire made to be easily removed for cleaning.
ALF Internationals Laboratory was created to satisfy the increasing demand for nontraditional orthodontic treatment appliances.

AHC Technicians
An ALF Honoris Causa certification is the title of the technician in which Dr. Nordstrom has waived the usual requirements of participating and fulfilling the requirements of the ACT course.
This type of award is also known by the Latin phrases honoris causa ("for the sake of the honour") or ad honorem ("to the honour"). This title is often given to those in the academic community as an "honorary doctorate" and may be awarded to someone who has no prior connection with the academic institution or no previous post-secondary education.
AHC Technicians are being awarded this title at the request of Dr. Nordstrom because of their long standing relationship as well as thier up to date, one-on-one training opportunities with Dr. Nordstrom .
